Designer


Job Summary:

  • Investigate and provide solutions to customer requirements, challenges, and problems relating to product design
  • Monitor and direct work flow of special production items through manufacturing to address customer needs
  • Coordinate with engineering, CNC machine shop, production, quality, and sales as needed to solve problems
  • Perform mechanical and simple tests to validate solutions
  • Assist in creating unique designs specific to customers requirements
  • Support manufacturing and quality manager on other duties as requested
  • Markets served: Food, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic, Consumer, Retail, Industrial, and Electronics.
  • Products include: trays, blisters, clamshells, containers, etc.

Requirements:

Education/Experience:

  • Degree in a technical field preferred (engineering, design, or manufacturing technology)
  • 3-5+ years of experience relating to quality, design, and/or manufacturing support

Skills/Abilities:

  • Self driven person with strong decision making skills and the capability to meet dynamic deadlines
  • Mathematical aptitude including knowledge of Geometric, Dimensioning & Tolerance
  • SolidWorks, CAD, Master CAM experience a must to develop product designs, prototyping, and tooling
  • Thermoforming and machine shop experience is preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document work
  • Proficient with the use of a computer, email, and Microsoft Office Products
  • Experience with ISO Quality Systems, audits, and or certification a plus
